Hi, my name is Aida Sulova.

I am an Art Director and an Independent Curator based in New York. I produce community-centric concepts and art projects to inspire and bring meaningful experiences to the world. Experienced in design, art direction, branding, multi-media production, including animation, video, photography, and web design.   

Community Engagement

Community engagement through art and educational projects promotes critical thinking, cultural enrichment and democracy in the country. Having conceptualized and established Asanbay Art Center, multidisciplinary open transformable venue in Central Asia with ability to adapt and bring creative visions to life, I envisioned it to advocate social change through its arts, education, and entertainment programs.

 

My role was to conceptualize, define, and create programs, branding, business and marketing strategy to implement the Center's mission, to promote cultural tourism, and creative economy. 

Curatorial

Curated/co-curated shows to represent artists from Central Asia, Georgia, Germany, and Russia. 

Social Campaigns

I believe in transformational power of art. "Once Upon a Plastic Bag" is anti-plastic bag campaign launched to raise awareness of the rampant garbage problem in the world.

Public Art Program

Many of the community-centric projects are created and envisioned with the help of collaborative initiatives with artists. Among such projects are Artystan, Public Art Program for the American University of Central Asia, and Partizaning, series of city interventions. 

Branding & Identity Building

Created identity for community-oriented commercial brands. As a Creative Director, I like working with passionate collaborators and experience creators. Together, we tell the stories through visualizing the client's strength and uniqueness.  

Art & Creative Direction

Created identity for community-oriented commercial brands. Through collaborative workshops and dialogues, the founders and creatives achieved the goals of the brand. As a Creative Director, I like working with passionate collaborators and experience creators. Together, we tell the stories through visualizing the client's strength and uniqueness.
